Do colleges give fencing scholarships?

Some do, but the picture is different from football: only a handful of Division I programs offer athletic scholarship money, and it's usually partial. The bigger, quieter prize is admissions support, Ivy League and Division III schools give no athletic money but actively recruit fencers, and being a recruited athlete at those schools is worth more than most scholarships.

Coaches recruit off USA Fencing ratings and national results starting around junior year. If that's the goal, the roadmap is: strong rating, fence the summer national events where coaches scout, and email programs directly with results, fencing rosters are small and coaches answer their email.

Don't overlook club fencing either: hundreds of colleges have competitive club teams (USACFC), no recruiting required, it's where most college fencing actually happens.
