Fencing FAQ is a free directory and information site for fencing families. This page explains what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as possible.

Information you give us

When you use the add a club or contact forms, we receive what you type, such as your name, email and club details. We use it only to reply to you and to keep the directory accurate. We do not sell it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our host keeps standard server logs (things like your IP address and browser type) to run the site and keep it secure. Your saved club shortlist lives only in your own browser, we never receive it.

Analytics and cookies

To understand which pages help fencing families, we use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure visits and traffic sources in aggregate. We use this to see what is useful, not to identify you personally, and we do not sell it. Cloudflare's analytics is cookieless. You can control this: install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or block and clear cookies in your browser settings. The only other cookie-like storage we use is your saved club shortlist, which stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Advertising

We may display ads through Google AdSense in the future. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings and learn more at how Google uses data.

Affiliate links

Some equipment links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend, our gear advice is based on what actually helps a new fencer. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Links to other sites

We link to clubs, retailers and fencing resources. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours.

Children's privacy

This site is written for parents and adults researching youth fencing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Email hello@fencingfaq.com to ask what we hold from a form you submitted, or to correct or delete it. We will update this policy as the site grows, with the date noted above.
