How much does fencing cost?

An intro class or beginner course is cheap, often $50-150 for a multi-week session with gear provided. After that, ongoing group classes commonly run $100-200 a month depending on your city and club, which puts fencing in the same range as most coached kids' activities.

Gear adds a one-time $150-300 for a starter set, replaced slowly as kids grow. The number that changes everything is competition: a casual local-tournament fencer adds a few hundred a year, while the serious national path, weekly private lessons, national travel, better gear, can reach five figures. Nobody starts there, and most families never go there.
